Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes Take Rome By Storm

nbc4i.com - Entertainment - Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes Take Rome By Storm: "Last week, it was revealed that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were Hollywood's newest couple.

On Friday, the two took to Rome where Tom was being honored. We're not sure if Brad and Angelina put them up to it, but the couple that came out of nowhere went to Access Hollywood to talk.

Holding hands, hugging and sharing kiss after kiss, Tom and Katie took their fans and Rome's press by storm.

'I have to tell you, it's incredibly romantic to be here in Rome together, it really is,' Cruise revealed. 'It's like, it is a dream, her first time and I feel...it's great! (laughs)'

A proud Tom showed off Katie, and who could blame him, as the young actress looked absolutely stunning.

But at the last minute, Holmes got interview shy as she backed away from the cameras and let Tom do the talking.

Access Hollywood asked Cruise how the two met."

Scott's Spotlight: Tom Cruise Interview

The Trades - Entertainment Industry Analysis: "During my time as an entertainment writer, I've interviewed several A-list celebrities, but none as famous as Tom Cruise. With his magnetic charisma, effortless acting ability, and savvy business sense, Cruise is quite possibly the most well known movie star in the world.

His latest project, an updated version of the H.G. Wells classic, "War of the Worlds" (which opens on June 29th), promises to be one of his highest grossing movies to date. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the film places Cruise's character in the midst of the battle for human survival when extra-terrestrials attack. Although alien invasion films are nothing new to moviegoers, Cruise promises that "War of the Worlds" will elevate the genre to a new level. "Steven and I always say that War of the Worlds is the smallest biggest film," Cruise remarks, "because it's the largest scale picture I've ever been involved in...but it's also incredibly intimate. I hope that it just scares the heck out of everyone [laughs]. It's scary. It's a ride.”"

Cruise Demands Retraction of 'Cokehead' Comment

CJ - Cruise Demands Retraction of 'Cokehead' Comment: "Superstar Tom Cruise is busy these days with the remake of science fiction classic 'The War of the Worlds.' Meanwhile, his mega-lawyer, Bert Fields, is fighting a non-fiction war of words over a characterization the actor feels insinuates his involvement with drugs.

It seems Fields and Cruise don't see the humor in a recent issue of The Beast, a bi-weekly newspaper out of Buffalo, New York. The paper published a feature called 'The 50 Most Loathsome People in America, 2004,' which included Cruise at number 39. According to the paper, his crime was inexplicable stardom.

'He's just one of these pretty-boy type guys,' The Beast's publisher, Paul Fallon told CJ. 'We put him on the list because he's a terrible actor, but he plays in a lot of movies and gets a lot of babes.'

'They said a number of things that were just flat-out false and crazy about Tom Cruise,' Fields told us.

Tom Cruise isn't humorless by any means, but his camp says The Beast just goes too far when it calls Cruise, as Fallon stated, 'a carbon copy of the quintessential rich, a**hole cokehead.' "
